Don’t die

Since you are not able to see any reasons worth living for and are about to kill yourself you might as well spend a few more hours on the earth keeping my company friend. You have lost a lot and I am not trying to pretend it never happen so I’m not going to ask you to either.

I can’t say these events you’ve faced are similar to pains I personally endured. We all have our roads to walk, it just seems you’ve been given a harder on and regardless of what you believe, the only reason you are still here now is because somewhere inside yourself you are looking for answers, deep down you want your loss and hurt to make sense, you would not have reached out otherwise and you would not be reading this otherwise.

Inspiring words fade and emotional words will not last, you have to muster up your own reasons why remaining alive might make some sense still. You have talents and dreams of your own and if you ever loved you parents surely you don’t believe they would want you to join them so early – God does not make mistakes and there are no ways to tell what such a painful time in your life might teach, there is no way now to decide what God has instore for this hurt, no possible way to say in what way he will use this very moment to both shape you and the people you will come across later in life if you decide to stick around. Don’t get me wrong this is painful for you and it will continue to hurt for a while, I don’t expect you to bounce back in a day and neither does the Lord but I promise you if you give yourself time you will come to a place where you’re ok enough to both breath again, and see the good the storm blew into your life. Don’t think about next week or next month, just live until tomorrow, cry, pray, think about things – heal little by little and then try to live again the day after that.

I hope you know I’m glad you are still alive and I’m certain you will see yourself in a different light after all this has passed. I’m sorry for your losses in life and the pains, I believe in you; honor them that you love by staying alive while carrying on their memories and their story as you write your very own.

Deborah - A woman of spirit

  It is often said that the world of the Bible was a patriarchal society in which God always chose to act, speak and reveal the divine purposes through men. It is quite probable that you are not familiar with the story of Deborah from the book of Judges, especially since the letter to the Hebrew in the New Testament singles out Barak as one of the great heroes of faith in ancient Israel when it refers to this story – an interpretation that is somewhat at odds with the narrative that we heard read this morning. The name Deborah is the normal Hebrew word for a bee or a hornet – and it sounds very similar to the feminine form of the Hebrew participle meaning ‘one who speaks’.
